Chaku, 19th January 2025: HMLA Tseten Chombay Ji today flagged off the inaugural Adventure Trekking Expedition along the His Holiness Dalai Lama Heritage Trekking Trail. The trail, recently inaugurated by Hon'ble Minister Shri Wangki Lowang Ji, holds immense spiritual and cultural significance for the Shertukpen and Buddhist communities.

Organized by the Eaglenest Bird Festival Committee, the expedition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 70 trekkers, including students from RGU, JNU, USTM, and Kaliabar College, along with resource persons and media professionals.

The 14-kilometer trek, starting from Chaku within the Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary and culminating at Thongre Village, offered challenging terrain and breathtaking views. The participants, guided by 2nd GB of Thongre, Shri Tsering Dorjee Thongdok Ji, gained valuable insights into the historical and cultural significance of the trail.

The event concluded with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude towards the Eaglenest Bird Festival Committee, the GBs, PRI Members, and Village Council Members of Thongre Village for their tireless efforts in making this inaugural expedition a resounding success.
